Vernal Equinox: Balancing Lion and Lamb, Day and Night

There is within you a lamb and a lion. Spiritual maturity is the ability to let lamb and lion lie down together. Your lion is your adult, aggressive self. It is your initiative-taking and decision-making self.
    -----Henry Nouwen
But there is also your fearful, vulnerable lamb, the part of you that needs affection, support, affirmation, and nurturing. When you take notice of only your lamb, you will easily become a victim of your need for other people’s attention.
       ------Henry Nouwen
The Kingdom of peace that the Christ came to establish begins when your lion and your lamb can freely and fearlessly lie down together.
     ------Henry Nouwen

Lamb to Lion: I am grateful for your strength of resolve in making my choices.

Lion to Lamb: Thank you for tamping down my self-serving ego and centering me to the source.
    -----G. Hill
The equinox, where lion and lamb meet in a higher plane. —-G. Hill
        It shall come to pass,
The wolf and the lamb shall feed together,
The lion shall eat straw like the ox,
And dust shall be the serpent’s food.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,”
Says the Lord.

------Isaiah 65:24-25
From our vulnerabilities, can come our strengths.
------Sigmund Freud.

Where strength and vulnerability meet.

Thank you for this. I am saving it for Laura. She needs to know that beside that strong lion, it is okay to be vulnerable and let her feelings show to those who love her.

    1. I am still learning to balance my lion and my lamb. I hope it helps. It is an on-going process.
