A lake is the landscape’s most beautiful and expressive feature. It is earth’s eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature. Henry David Thoreau.
Earth’s Eye
by Gloria
Earth’s eye for us to drift
To hidden sounds; hidden gifts.
No fruit to yield, no bud to hold,
But palettes of hues; reds and gold.
Voices beat from deep inside.
Some heard; others denied.
Rivers swell, water flows
Undercurrents yet unknown.
Earth’s eye winks to our delight
Out from shadows into light.
Birthing truths for us to hear
Blink off Ego, Doubt and Fear .
Bill Wranich captures the natural beauty of the Pinelands of Southern New Jersey. I am inspired by his work.
