The Dawn of Understandings

They followed him, ate with him, sat at his feet, yet they still did not understand. 

I have centuries of learned writings and sermons, 
Yet wonder about what I have yet to understand. 
But the morning dew sparkles in newness,
And if I am not too distracted, 
I can sip enlightenment.
