Impatiens: The Power of One

My pot of impatiens
Lovely and quiet.
I wonder why it
Prefers the private
Shelter of shade.

When asked she conveyed
Self-assured and unafraid,
"I'm happy for grand
Blooms in the sun,
But please understand
The power of one."

"All have been granted
Purpose where planted.
Dare not downgrade
A place in the shade."

"We all have been kissed
With incredible gifts,
That honor and build
A life that's been given . . .
 . . . A life worth living."
     -----G. Hill

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live. Deut. 30:19

    1. I have always identified with their love of shade. I also like how calm and non-showy they are—humble and happy.
