Christmas presents us with time to reflect. It is a gateway for the new year, opening a new and vital mindset of resolutions.
I bought the book, The 7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens, by Sean Covey for the teens in our family. I wrapped it last, giving me more time to read and digest it. Its focus is for adolescents, but the sound advice also gave me pause. Some of my life choices would have been different, had I followed these disciplines.
Here are the first three.

Habit 1 BE PROACTIVE: Taking responsibility for your life, making hard choices based on principles, not moods, building an internal locus of control, choosing not to be victims, but taking an inside-outside approach to change. Habit 2 BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND: What is the end game, define the most favorable outcome with a clear purpose in mind, clarifying your goals to create a vision of a clear path forward. Habit 3 PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST: Prioritizing the crucial and important things first. Stay on your course, review and organize your goals.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, But gives us power, love and self-discipline. ------2 Timothy 1:7

For tomorrow . . . Habits 4, 5, 6 and 7.
