The Other Side of Weary

I look for shelter from the drama of the world, from the thunderous voices, so weary of the spectacle.
~ John Adams
Ever wonder what
The little critters do
When thunder rumbles

Its hullabaloo?

They find intermissions
From weary competitions,
To listen to

The sounds of life.

I find that very good advice.
G. Hill
All the good stuff is on the other side of weary, with just one more step, we are there.
----Andre Agassi
What if journey needed one more step?
What if song needed just one more voice?
What if compassion needed just one more heart?
What if darkness needed just one more candle?
Things seem difficult just before they become easy. (Thomas Fuller)
And as quick as a
thought, we are there, the other side of weary.
------G. Hill
I found my shelter in you. ~ Emily Dickinson
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
----Luke 17:21

I love a real downpour, when you just don’t want to go out. It is the perfect time to just curl up and read, or just watch the rain come down outside the window. Jack and I used to love to sit on our porch in VA when it was raining. It is the perfect time to share thoughts and be calm.

    1. Thank you, Carol. Love your comments about curling up and read during a downpour. I once read this quote: Rainstorm is the perfect time to curl up with a good book or with someone who has read one. 🙂

There is nothing as wonderful as listening to the rain falling on a cottage roof, or watching the line of rain approach across the Lake. Everything else stops in anticipation!

    1. Judy, Thank you. I love it too. Love the gathering dark clouds in the afternoon, the distant rumbling in the sky and if we are lucky, we get some rain showers. It’s a soothing sound. When I lived in California, we’d have months of dry weather. How I missed the sound of rain when I lived there.
