Mercy Untethered

Hot Air Balloon, Lake, Balloon, Sunset, Blue, Yellow
Mercies big and
Mercies small--
I don't know how to
Capture it all.

Rising high
'Neath the gentle sky
Floats up all your pain
Cleansed like rain.

      G. Hill

From her book, Traveling Mercies, Anne Lamott:

My heart was broken and my head was just barely inhabitable.

Mercy means compassion, empathy, a heart for someone’s troubles.

Then the singing enveloped me. It was furry and resonant, coming from everyone's very heart.

There was no sense of performance or judgment, only that the music was breath and food.

This singing will envelope you . . .
