Give yourself a gift of five minutes of contemplation in awe of everything you see around you. Go outside and turn your attention to the many miracles around you. This five-minute-a-day regimen of appreciation and gratitude will help you to focus your life in awe. Wayne Dyer

The Gift of Awe and The Age Old Yearning for More
In the quiet of the night sky, my mind cartwheels up to the heavens and I am held in its lure.
Last evening: A blue-gray veil brushed across the heavenly canvas above me. Drifting over an ever-watchful moon, it softened its glow. Drawn upward, my mind and body lifted, defying gravity. An ancient yearning returned with distant echoes of a mariner-voyager. It pulsed through my veins.
There I linger, allowing pieces of the cosmic puzzle to dance around me. So much knowing, just beyond my reach. I am in awe, swinging under creation's spell.
In 1 Kings 10:24, we read about the earth seeking Solomon, in all his wisdom, wisdom put there by God. I look to modern day Solomons.
Physicists call it the "God Equation" searching for the theory that unites all theories in the quest, as Stephen Hawking writes, "to know the mind of God".

Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. ------Daniel 12:3

But I am not among the learned, the chosen few. Yet I am wise enough to linger in the gift I have been given, the gift of awe. -------G. Hill

——Albert Einstein
Too soon I break away from the grip of the heavens and musing in the gauzy haze of the unknown. There are other spaces for me to enter, spaces of what I know about connections, love, compassion and faith. So I release from its spell----but not before lingering in its awe. My feet once again on solid ground, but my spirit, a bit taller.

Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn from them. ------Proverbs 4:5
From Job 38: The God Equation “Who is this who darkens counsel By words without knowledge? Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me. “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy? “Or who shut in the sea with doors, When it burst forth and issued from the womb; When I made the clouds its garment, And thick darkness its swaddling band; When I fixed My limit for it, And set bars and doors; When I said, ‘This far you may come, but no farther, And here your proud waves must stop!’ “Have you commanded the morning since your days began, And caused the dawn to know its place, That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it? It takes on form like clay under a seal, And stands out like a garment. From the wicked their light is withheld, And the upraised arm is broken. Have you entered the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in search of the depths? Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Or have you seen the doors of the shadow of death? Have you comprehended the breadth of the earth? Tell Me, if you know all this. “Can you bind the cluster of the Pleiades,[g] Or loose the belt of Orion? Can you bring out Mazzaroth in its season? Or can you guide the Great Bear with its cubs? Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you set their dominion over the earth? “Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, That an abundance of water may cover you? Can you send out lightnings, that they may go, And say to you, ‘Here we are!’? Who has put wisdom in the mind? Or who has given understanding to the heart?

Parker Palmer, author of numerous books on the spirituality of education, wrote that learning happens when we create spaces for learning, to allow for time of thought, time to be transformed by thoughts.

Gloria- the gift of awe – such beautiful wisdom as I reflect on the scripture– thank you!
