"Over the river and through the woods, to Grandmother's house we go."
Well, our grandmother's house was only across the street. Still, we'd sing this song and imagine ourselves on a Thanksgiving journey across the miles. Your sleigh awaits. Climb in with me, tucked in with blankets of warm Thanksgiving memories from yesteryear.
I thought you might enjoy hearing it on YouTube as much as I did. See link below.
I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus. -----1 Corinthians 1:4

I am smiling because before I even listened to the You Tube, I started singing this song in my head!!
Thanks, Gloria, I’d never known the lyrics to ” Over the river…” never even heard them till now. I didn’t know it is a Thanksgiving song. Enjoyed your post much. Thanks.
We used to sing this in elementary school. Each grade had a piano in the room and all my teachers could play. We sang this and other classic songs from the Golden Song Book. Great memories. Thank you so much for your comments. They are truly appreciated.
