Trees: Standing Ovations

I used to wonder about trees swaying in the breeze. What stories are held beneath the bark? What secrets are blowing freely that I cannot hear?

But these days, in the winter of my years, I just hear approval.

Tree, Olive Tree, Watercolor, Gnarled, Wood, Bark
Applause. Applause
As evening draws.
The day is spent.
Trees nodding consent.
