October’s Duality: Absence and Presence

One of the best feelings in the world is knowing that your absence and your presence both mean something to someone.
---- Hoda Kotb (*citation below)
Dedication: This post is in honor my Aunt Helen Trionfo, and all our dearly departed souls whose voices we still hear and presence we feel.
There are some who bring a light so bright
that even in their absence,
their light is present within us.
-----Kotb
Guided on their final flight.
Graced with color and light.

What a privilege to be present in this cycle,
to be part of the grand design,
and the continuation of life.
-----G. Hill
Before its release,
an October leaf
twists and turns,
until
its higher authority,
an ever-present hand
guides it gently,
to find
its soft landing.

Are we any less?
-----G. Hill

Then came October . . .

Then came October, grounding us in the soft rustling of leaves, souls whispering in the breeze, echoing us back to a groundwork of iconic footprints, on carpets of gold, we tread.
------ G. Hill

Jesus tells his disciples:

It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I go, in my absence, I will send him unto you.
----John 16:7
Absence becomes the greatest Presence.
----May Sarton

We are already totally in the presence of God.
What is absent is our awareness.
----- David Brenner
My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
—– Exodus 33:14
