Chrysanthemums: Effortless Generosity

Chrysanthemum is from the Greek, “khrysos” for”gold” and “anthemon” for “flower”. The “gold flower” is truly a treasure.

From Bud to Bloom:

When we find ourselves as tightly wound as a burgeoning bud, holding our breath against a pinched world, it is good to remember the hidden treasures of our soul. It's all in the timing. Why not now? Give life the cue to unfurl your gently folded bloom. It is a treasured kernel of everything seeded within.

We can become the late harvest. Effortlessly.
Then the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
-----Anaïs Nin
Petals curl
Arms open wide.
Generously unfurl.
Treasures inside.

Petal-arms, to you they reach.
Ready and free, here on earth.
Golden spheres radiate rebirth.
Nature's hymn: Know your worth.
When troubles have faded
And arms wiggle free
Chrysanthemums wake us
Naturally.
Let everything in creation draw you to God. See what waits within.

Refresh your mind with some innocent recreation and needful rest, if it were only to saunter through the garden or the fields, listening to the sermon preached by the flowers, the trees, the meadows, the sun, the sky, and the whole universe.

You will find that they exhort you to love and praise God; that they excite you to extol the greatness of the Sovereign Architect Who has given them their being.

----- St. Paul of the Cross
Another parable He put forth to them, saying: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches. -----Matthew 13:31-32
I'm glad to live in a world where there are Octobers.
